U18 Boys’ Hockey Teams

Our U18 program caters for performance players. This is an elite training squad who are looking to push on, compete for National titles, personal National League representation or players who are looking to represent 1st teams at their respective schools.

Due to England Hockey Schools Competition changes the hockey 2nd XI will also take part in a Tier 2 National Competition making the OMT club set-up even more important for any player aspiring to represent their school in National competitions.

Sport, in a supportive environment, helps children build confidence. It teaches children discipline, social skills and work ethic. Most of all, our members learn the value of their teammates.

Team selection

The squad will train consistently and work in a performance environment. With players looking to make it into both club and school 1st teams, the following development pathway will ensure everyone has the opportunity to prove themselves and push for places.

England Hockey Cup Competition

Based on training and performance. A competitive training environment will help make selection tough and the 16 selected players will represent the club in the knockout competition.

Mercian Premier League Games

Mercian Premier League games will be against some of the top clubs in the country, (Surbiton, Guildford, Wycombe etc). Players will be given opportunities in these games to develop, building into their respective school hockey terms where all players should be playing pushing for 1st team places or playing 2nd team level.
