U10s Mixed Hockey
U10s Mixed Hockey Team
The U10 section is open to both Girls and Boys. We welcome children aged 7-10 to our youngest section of the club where we have a mix of experienced and young coaches. With training delivered weekly on both Sundays and Mondays, the aim of our U10 section is to be fun with accelerated skill development.
We aim to build a passion for the game in young players and for those with the drive and ambition, there is a complete pathway from a young player to competing for the county and national team places.
Sunday Sessions & Lead Coaches
Holland is the most forward-thinking hockey countries in the world, with their club structure second to none. Our U10 and U12 session-plans and focus-areas are in-line with their model. Skill development, touches on the hockey ball and game sense is the focus, ensuring fun and creativity.
Chris Sleeman will be the head of the Colts section and will be assisted by Pinder Sagoo and Calum Macleod in delivering the U10 sessions for the 2019/20 season.
As a club, we feel it is important that our older junior members have the opportunity to develop leadership skills and give back to The Club. Many of our players also do Duke of Edinburgh and will help coach as part of the award.
Karan Sofat (Current England U18 Junior International) will be supporting the U10 & U12 section, coaching and being part of their development on a number of Sundays.
OMT Hockey Club
Training for the U10 section is as follows for the 2019/20 season:
Sunday mornings, exact timings are to be confirmed.
Monday evenings, 18:00 – 19:15, this session will be joint with the U12’s.
The club is also committed to entering the U10 section into the Mercian Hockey League for 2019/20. The league takes the format of Sunday 7 a-side tournaments, creating a fun and exciting festival hockey atmosphere, a great way for young players to gain their first experience in match situations. The teams will of course be supported by our fantastic coaching team.
