Three women’s teams with sixty new friends thrown in.
OMT Women’s Hockey London
Three women’s hockey teams based in North London. The best facilities, a welcoming bunch of women and a team for you no matter what your level.
Three teams and growing
In five years the OMT Women’s Section has created three teams supported by girls’ and mixed junior teams. Led by a strong core, the women’s section has grown from strength to strength over a very short space of time. With a mixture of older and younger players and three teams split across different leagues, there’s a place for you whether you’ve never picked up a stick or are an experienced player.
We’re a new Ladies’ club but are already well-known by the league as friendly and welcoming, with players defecting to the OMT women’s side to join sixty new friends.
While we’re friendly, we’re playing to win. The club will expand further in the coming years and we hope to continue scaling the leagues.
Two water-based astroturfs, a MUGA, indoor hall, six changing rooms, an amazing clubhouse with viewing balcony, discounted bar, plasma screens with BT Sport and Sky Sports, social areas and meeting rooms, and, first class kit.
Take a look, or better, join and come use them with us.
Dawn Whitmore, our Director of Women’s Coaching, has experience taking both performance and development groups. We are fortunate to have Dawn who is a passionate and dedicated part of our club. She has previously taken both Teddington and Eastcote junior sides to the Indoor National Final over 4 consecutive years and knows how to flourish at the top end.
Never played before? No worries…
Dawn’s passion for creating an atmosphere where women want to either take up or come back into hockey is admirable. She previously ran a ‘back to hockey’ to help more women get involved in physical activity and sport.
Dawn is a qualified coach, umpire and welfare officer. Our club truly is for everyone. Don’t hesitate to join or get in touch to ask any questions you may have. We’d love to welcome you into our hockey family.
Training is on a Tuesday night and while a lot of fun is taken by some exceptional coaches that have played and coached at very high standards.
Why I joined (and stayed)…
Short para of text, short short, let the images do the talking
“I hadn’t played hockey for quite a few years and was really missing it. My Family moved over from Australia just over two years ago and a colleague of my Husband’s mentioned that she played hockey with a few others from work. My Husband mentioned that I play and she invited me to training. My eldest Daughter and I both went and found OMTs to be the most welcoming club we could imagine. We both play and love every moment of it. The club makes the whole family feel at home.”Atti
“For me it’s al about the club’s atmosphere and the girls. It’s amazing fun and the most enjoyable club I’ve played at.”Katie
While they’re shite in the bar, they’re great at admin and hockey…

The club’s plan
Old Merchant Taylors’ Hockey Club has grown from a club that relied on the school’s old boys to a community club with a hugely diverse set of members. Our players come from all over London, many of whom have joined based on the club’s friendly reputation. Once a player joins, they seldom leave.
We do enjoy the benefits of the hockey-ambitious school boys joining to progress their hockey and MTS old boys returning to continue playing hockey.
The Junior section is quickly becoming a key feeder to the Men’s section. The talent within the young players is exceptional.
OMT has had a change of leadership in the last 5 years and the club is growing fast with the ambition to become one of the biggest in North London with the best facilities and the friendliest group of players.
Our men’s teams have been playing 50 years. We now have a women’s section and as part of our 50th year anniversary have added a Junior’s section that will become a leading light in coaching youth as well as community hockey.
